2019/2020 School/University/Youth Group Information
Prices are NZ$22 per night for primary and intermediate children,and NZ$27 for high school/university students, (Adults NZ$32 per night).
The Pavilion or the Stewart Island Community Hall are available to hire for kitchen facilities for your school/youth group camp.
As we have limited space for big groups, the Pavilion or Community Centre must be booked for your meals and leisure time. Adults are welcome to use our facilities at night time.
All bookings for the Pavillion and Stewart Island Community Hall are done through Stewart Island Backpackers.
Pavilion:- Good for group sizes up to 35pax. The Pavilion hire rate for school/youth groups is $100 per full day of use / $50.00 per half day. It is usual to charge the half day rate for the days of arrival & departure. Use of the Lions barbeque is an extra charge of $30 each time it is used.
Stewart Island Community Hall: Ideal for large groups with excellent cooking facilities and dining area.

Please note the stadium is booked by Halfmoon Bay school Mon, Tue, Wed, Thurs, Fri 9am-9:30am and 1 - 2:45 pm during school year.
Paws4Conservation: : Gadget is a Jack Russell x fox terrier and one of 80 Conservation Dogs in New Zealand. Gadget is trained to detect rats and mice, and her role is to help keep predator-free places like Ulva Island as predator-free. She does this by patrolling the Island to sniff out unwelcome arrivals, or checking for stowaways on boats and in bags before they leave the mainland. Full bedding is supplied free of charge. We can take a maximum of 40 people per booking.
All Bedding is Supplied By Stewart Island Backpackers. No SLEEPING BAGS ALLOWED ON BEDS, as bed bugs spread through dirty sleeping bags.
We allow two single rooms at the reduced rate of $32 per night for the two teachers accompanying your party; all other adults are allocated dorm rooms. Additional single rooms may be booked at the normal rate of $58 per night.

Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct & Nov School bookings welcome, alternative venue must be booked for meals and leisure time
